    Festive Moscow Mule

Moscow mule refers to a drink made with vodka, lime juice and ginger beer served over ice in a copper mug to preserve the temperature longer. It’s really a classic!!

Add some cranberry juice to the classic Moscow Mule, then top with sugared cranberries and you got yourself this beautiful festive cocktail. It’s as simple as that!

    Sugared Cranberries

Sugared cranberries are such a delicious, holiday snack. I add them on bundt cakes, use them as a sweet snack or to top off holiday drinks like this one:). There might be different ways to make sugared cranberries, I have just settled on this one as it is so easy.

    • Rinse cranberries, pick impurities and soft ones out. (Usually I do 16 ozs as that’s the size of the bag sold at my grocery store)
    • Get a medium sauce pot, add 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar, set to medium heat. Once syrup starts to boil, lower heat to low. Let cook on low for about 5 minutes.
    • Add cranberries and then immediately remove the pot from heat. I use a slotted spoon to remove the cranberries and place them in sugar on a flat surface. Roll then place them on a tray.
    • Freeze cranberries for better results.

    Tips & Notes

If you mix cocktails often, you pretty much can skip this section. However, if you’re making cocktails to entertain your guests and want to make sure you don’t miss anything, then feel free to go through my notes below before jumping to the recipe.

    • Make sugared cranberries the night before gathering, freeze for best results. They’ll keep the drink cooler for longer.
    • Pick a good quality vodka, keep it chilled.
    • Use a mixer quality Ginger Beer, Ginger Ale is a good substitute if you can’t find Ginger Beer. (Amazon affiliate – This is the Ginger Beer I love using for mixing drinks)
    • Make each drink separately, yes it adds few seconds but it’s a simple recipe, you can just make the drinks as you gather around your kitchen counter or bar. This way you can customize a little, some people want less vodka than others. Plus the bubbles from ginger beer are great on freshly made drinks.
    • Garnish – I love garnishing with lime slices but rosemary sprigs make for great festive garnishes too!
    • Copper mugs – they’re not mandatory, but they really do keep the drink cooler for longer. Plus, they look really cool! This (Amazon affiliate) copper mugs gift set is a perfect set to own or gift to a foodie for the holidays!
    • Enjoy responsibly:)).

    Notes

    • Please note that this amount of sugared cranberries is enough for at least 6 servings, you can’t prepare each serving separately so it’s better to have a batch.
    • The drink recipe is shown in individual serving amounts.
    • Prepare the sugared cranberries the night before.
    • Nutritional values are an estimate as not all the sugar in the syrup is absorbed by the cranberries and not all the sugar for rolling the cranberries sticks to them.
