This Guava margarita is such a tropical treat cocktail! Go slow as it’s so delicious that you can’t stop sipping on it:). Imagine me sipping on this delight as I’m typing this post!

    Guava Margarita

If you landed on this post, chances are you already know what Guava is. Guava is a tropical fruit typically found in Central and Latin America plus Caribbean region. Guava is often juiced, incorporated in desserts as well as jams/jellies etc. In Spanish, you’ll find this fruit under Guayaba.

In my opinion, in order to achieve consistent results when making your guava margaritas is to use Guava Nectar. Guava nectar has both the flavor and concentration of guava fruit but also the sweetness which means that unlike other margaritas, you don’t need to add simple syrup to this one!!!

    Ingredients

I try to keep it very simple when making this margarita and that means few ingredients.

    • Guava nectar
    • Lime juice
    • Tequila
    • Orange liqueur
    • Sea salt
    • Lime zest
    • Ice

I usually have most ingredients on hand except guava nectar, so anytime I crave this margarita I just make a quick check that I have the rest of the ingredients and buy the guava nectar in my next shopping trip.

The margarita glass is upside down on a platter with the rim in a lime zest and sea salt mix.
Lime Zest and Sea Salt Rim

    Step by Step Process

Start by chilling the guava nectar. Grind coarse sea salt on a shallow plate then zest 1-2 limes depending on their size.

Then I squeeze the limes and add them over ice in a cocktail shaker. Add guava nectar, orange liqueur, tequila and shake for about 30 seconds.

Slide one of the limes you squeezed over the rim of the margarita glass, then dip the rim over salt and lime zest. Finally add few ice cubes in the glass and pour the mixed margarita over. Add a slice of lime as garnish and enjoy responsibly! Cheers:).

Margaritas were a happy discovery for me when I moved from Albania to Florida. So if you love them as much as I do, feel free to check out some of my other margarita recipes.
