If you love hosting friends as often as we do, you’ll love having some of these recipes handy. The Spinach and Goat Cheese dip is perfect for a small gathering while the Mango and Strawberry salsa can be made into a big bowl to satisfy a crowd. Hope you enjoy these recipes:).
Roasted Red Pepper Dip with Feta Cheese
This roasted red peppers dip with feta cheese is a beautiful and delicious dip that wows everyone. You can get creative with toppings, but I love to top it with toasted pinenuts and some flat leaf parsley. Get Recipe: Red Pepper Dip with Feta
Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Goat Cheese
This spinach and artichoke dip has goat cheese instead of the traditional cream cheese and mayo. Goat cheese and two other cheeses I used make the dip gooey and perfect for dipping bread or chips in it. We love cooking this dip in a cast iron skillet and serving it in the same skillet too. Mango and Strawberry Salsa
This Mango and Strawberry salsa is a favorite salsa for us to serve during mango season. It’s usually a hit on Memorial Day weekend get togethers in our house as that’s peak mango season here in South Florida. This salsa can be doubled or tripled and works great for a crowd. If love mangoes like we do, feel free to check out these other mango recipes from my blog!
Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip
This dip with whipped cottage cheese and feta cheese is a Mediterranean delight, so good with some toasted or lightly grilled pita bread. Plus it has some extra protein so it’s guilt free indulging:). I love topping this dip with marinated olives and little red peppers. Get Recipe: Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip
Mediterranean Green Goddess Dip
I love giving a Mediterranean twist to classic recipes. As I did on the spinach dip where I replaced cream cheese and mayo with goat cheese, for this Green Goddess dip I used a huge amount of herbs and Greek yogurt to create this beautiful dip. You can also thin it a bit with olive oil and lemon juice to make it into a dressing. Get Recipe: Mediterranean Green Goddess Dip
Garlic & Cilantro Yogurt Dip
I love yogurt and garlic combination, I know it’s a bit weird if you’re not used to it. But if you’ve been in the Balkan or Mediterranean region, you know we cook plenty with yogurt and garlic. But if you mix garlic, cilantro, olive oil and yogurt plus few more ingredients you can get a fantastic dip or topping that is great with grilled meats for example lamb chops. Ajvar Dip – Balkan Red Pepper Dip
Ajvar is a Serbian dip with roasted red peppers, eggplant, garlic, olive oil etc etc. Most Balkan countries use ajvar in kebab sandwiches. It’s really worth its weight in gold. You have to try it as a dip or as a condiment if you ever get a chance to try it! Get Recipe: Ajvar – Balkan Red Pepper Dip
Tuna Tarragon Dip
I love this tuna tarragon dip especially during Spring time. It’s great when served with fresh ingredients like carrots, celery, peppers or pita, bread etc etc. The best thing about this dip is that it’s so quick to put together and chances are you have most ingredients in your pantry. Use Strained Yogurt as Base for a Dip
I grew up in Albania where when I was little we bought milk early in the mornings as it came from the farms. We boiled it and used some for breakfast and made the rest into homemade yogurt. Then at the end of the week, we strained the yogurt into a thicker sauce we called Salcë Kosi in Albanian. This strained yogurt is similar to Labneh.
You can use this strained yogurt to make amazing dips or spreads. My favorite dip with strained yogurt has chopped walnuts, garlic, olive oil and salt. It’s really a great meze! Get Recipe: Strained Yogurt and there you’ll see some examples on how I use strained yogurt.
Argentinian Salsa Criolla
One of my favorite restaurants here in Miami is an Argentinian restaurant that serves as a starter some fresh bread with this salsa criolla. I can’t stop dipping bread in it and we always ask for a second serving. The grilled steak also comes with a small container of salsa criolla and another one of chimichurri, so in that case it’s used as a topping or condiment. Get Recipe: Argentinian Salsa Criolla
