This Mango Strawberry Salsa is a feast for the tastebuds!! The sweetness from the ripe mangoes and strawberries, the tartness of the limes and the light heat from the jalapeños combined with cilantro and salt make this salsa the perfect dip as well as the perfect topping for a variety of dishes.
Is this salsa a dip or topping?
It can be both! If I’ll use it as a dip, I try to dice the ingredients a little smaller. I use it with tortilla chips as a dip or I top off fish, chicken or grilled meats with it. It’s just fantastic:).
Since I love mangoes so much, I make a mango salsa to top off this skillet chicken meal and it is definitely a favorite summer meal in our home.
Ingredients
This salsa is very simple and very customizable. You can swap ingredients and you can also just eyeball the quantities. It’s not like a cake where you need to be precise with weights and quantities.
- mangoes
- strawberries
- grape or cherry tomatoes
- red onion
- limes
- jalapeños
- cilantro
- sea salt
How to Make this Mango Salsa?
You can get all fancy with chopping and peeling like a chef. But If I’m to narrow down the process for this recipe, I’d describe it as follows.
- Chop all ingredients and add them to a bowl.
- Squeeze lime juice and add sea salt.
- Mix well to incorporate flavors.
- Chill and serve as a dip or topping on your favorite meals. Enjoy:)
Mango Strawberry Salsa
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 mangoes
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 cup grape tomatoes
- 0.5 red onion since onions come in various sizes, I estimate about half a cup of chopped red onion
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 jalapeño
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 lime
Instructions
- Peel and chop mangoes in cube size pieces. Chop grape tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro and strawberries. Add all the chopped ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Add sea salt over the ingredients. And finally squeeze 1 lime over the ingredients. If lime is not very juicy or it is small, feel free to squeeze more than 1 lime.
- Mix all the ingredients well together. Refrigerate for about 1 hour then serve as a dip or topping for grilled food. Enjoy:)).
Notes
- You can make the salsa in about 5 minutes, it’s so quick. I love to let it chill for an hour before serving so the flavors marinate together. But if in a hurry, there’s nothing wrong to serve right away:).

You definitely can replace cilantro with other herbs, but I want to warn you that the flavor profile will be different. I love using fresh thyme, basil and flat leaf parsley when not using cilantro.
Yes you can! While peach is not similar to strawberries taste wise, I love making a similar salsa with mango and peach. While if you’re looking to replace the mango, I have tried making this salsa with pineapple instead of mango since pineapples have a longer seasonality than mangoes.
