This Pear, Grapes, Gorgonzola Salad with Radicchio is served with a citrusy vinaigrette to make a perfectly gourmet Fall Salad. We love this salad as a side dish or even as a light meal on its own because it’s really a treat!!

Everyone loves pear and gorgonzola combo flavors. I always build a salad around these two ingredients but I mix and match the rest. Two years ago I posted a salad with pear, gorgonzola and grapes in social media but not on a blog and somehow everyone wanted the recipe.
Same video has resurfaced this year and I am getting the questions again. So here’s the basic recipe and you can customize it to your liking:). Thank you for all the messages and comments!!
Ingredients for this beautiful Fall salad
These are the most typical ingredients I use on this salad:
- lettuce – pick a good quality lettuce that is green, crisp and bright. It makes a difference!
- radicchio – it’s slightly bitter but adds such a great balance to this salad.
- pears – use your favorite variety
- grapes – I tend to use purple grapes most often for this salad, but feel free to use other types too.
- gorgonzola cheese
- shredded carrots or carrot sticks
- red onion
Optional – add walnut halves, sometimes I do add them and sometimes I don’t.
Salad Dressing
My go to salad dressing is the typical Mediterranean style: drizzle olive oil, red wine vinegar and add sea salt. Add all to taste and usually I eyeball the quantities.
But when I feel I want to elevate my salad or like my daughters says “Ohhh fancy”, then I make this Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette. You can make it with regular lemons instead of Meyer lemons if those are hard to find.
Let’s make this salad:)
I usually wash lettuce, pears, grapes and let them air dry on the counter on individual containers. Then I cut the red onion in either small pieces or julienne strips. Add those to cold water to remove the pungent smell and acidity.
Then I prepare the salad dressing and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Once you’re ready to serve the salad, then you can either drizzle some salad dressing over and let your family members or guests add more dressing as needed to their own serving.
Enjoy:).
Don’t forget to add walnuts if you like them for a little crunch on this salad.
Pear, Grapes Gorgonzola Salad with Radicchio
Equipment
- 1 salad platter for 4-6 servings
- 1 salad tongs
- 1 mason jar for dressing
Ingredients
Salad Ingredients
- 8 oz lettuce
- 4 oz radicchio
- 2 pears
- 20 purple grapes
- 4 oz crumbled gorgonzola cheese
- 2-3 tbsps shredded carrots or carrot sticks
- 0.25 red onion if onion is big, use less since it can overpower the taste
Basic Salad Dressing
- 3 tbsps olive oil
- 2 tbsps red wine vinegar
- 0.5 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- Wash lettuce leafs, radicchio, pears and grapes. Let them air dry on the counter. Crumble the gorgonzola and set it aside.
- Slice or chop the onion and add it to a container with cold water for few minutes. It will minimize the smell and acidity.
- Get a salad platter. Chop lettuce and add as a first layer in the salad platter.
- Chop radicchio and add over lettuce. Slice pears to your favorite shape and add over lettuce and radicchio. You can add grapes as they are or slice them in half (highly suggest slicing if you have young children).
- Add carrot sticks over pears and grapes. Then add gorgonzola cheese as well as onions.
- Mix the olive oil, red wine vinegar and sea salt in a mason jar. Pour that over the salad. Mix as needed and serve! Enjoy:).
Notes
- Salad Dressing – either use a basic olive oil, red wine vinegar and sea salt dressing or this Meyer lemon vinaigrette dressing. I only use the vinaigrette when I have guests over or for a special event, otherwise I just use a simple olive oil, red wine vinegar and sea salt mix.
