This breakfast casserole with is a bread pudding made with croissants, apples, and many Fall favorites like cinnamon, brown sugar, walnuts and more! It smells heavenly when it's baking and it tastes even better!

Instructions
Grease the baking dish with 1 tbsp of butter. Roughly chop or cut the croissants and add them to baking dish. Toast at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.
Whisk custard ingredients. Start by whisking eggs, add milk, vanilla extract, brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon zest.
Pour custard ingredients over toasted croissant pieces. Press with a spatula to ensure the bread absorbs the custard mix.
Slice the apples and add them over softened or melted butter in a mixing bowl. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar, heavy cream and mix well to incorporate the flavors.
Pour the mixed apple topping over the croissants. Add chopped walnuts and bake at 350 degrees F for about 45 minutes.
Once ready to serve, sprinkle confectioner sugar over the casserole. Serve with ice cream, coffee, drizzle of kahlua cream etc. Enjoy:)
