Albanian Salce Kosi - Sour Cream Dip with Walnuts and Garlic. This dip is used in mezes in several Mediterranean countries with some variation in each country. This sour cream dip is perfect when served with spicy roasts, grilled meats etc.

Mortar & Pestle
16ozssour creamregular, not fat free
0.5tspsaltadjust to taste
1cup walnut halves
Crush garlic and salt in mortar.
Pour sour cream in a bowl. Add crushed garlic.
Mince half of the walnuts really thin and pour those on top of the sour cream as well.
Add 4 tbsps of olive oil and mix really well until everything is creamy and homogeneous.
Garnish on top with remaining walnuts and olive oil. Chill for 2 hours before serving so the flavors really can mix together.
If this dip is served with meats and lots of other appetizers, you'll be able to put few tablespoons of this dip on each person's plate. But if you are using it just as dip then you might need to double the recipe because I usually run out of it in parties.
